Timely repairs are what we strive for. Repair time is highly dependent on nature of the repair and availability of materials to complete them. We will discuss estimated time of completion upon vehicle drop off or approval of repair.
Contact us for an estimate on standard service and maintenance. For repair cost we will most likely have to have the car present at our facility in order to make an estimate.
Short answer:
If the car is not running well, please contact us immediately. There may be an issue that requires repair. Continued driving may cause further damage, it may be best to have the car towed in.
Long answer:
A true "tune up" doesn't apply to most modern cars but is still relevant to many classic cars. Tune ups in the past consisted of certain maintenance items and adjustments (example: Carburetor and Ignition Timing adjustments). On modern cars there is scheduled service that takes care of the replacement of fluids and wearable parts. The goal of scheduled service (aka Preventative Maintenance) is to replace these wearable items before they cause an issue and ensure that your car stays in tip top condition. As automotive technology has advanced the adjustments are now automatically and constantly made by your engine's computer via information it gets from sensors located in and around the engine, therefore, alleviating the need for manual adjustments.
Yes, there are diagnosis charges. The charge is dependent on the nature of the problem we are diagnosing. However, on many standard repairs if the customer elects to repair the car with AutoTechnic the diagnosis charge is waived.
Appointments are preferred but we understand that you can't schedule when your car has an issue. We try to be as accommodating as possible, appointment or not.
We accept cash and all major credit card companies. Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover.
The goal of scheduled service is to keep your car in good operating order and to replace fluids and wearable parts before they cause issues. Regular maintenance of your vehicle protects your investment, helps to prevent breakdowns, and will save you on the cost of repairs in the future.
Dependent on the nature of the repairs needed, the consequences of not fixing them immediately vary. We will discuss the immediacy of the repair with the customer and if multiple repairs are needed we will help prioritize them in accordance to severity.
Schedule an appointment as soon as possible to have it diagnosed. It could be a simple fix or could be indicating a more significant problem that could lead to major damage if not addressed. Even if the Check Engine Light is a result of a minor issue, if left on it can mask other issues if they were to arise.
When performing service to your car checking the condition of your brakes is standard at AutoTechnic. We will report to you when your getting close or when you need to replace them. Most German cars are also fitted with brake pad wear sensors and will turn on an indicator when it's time to replace them. Shaking and squeaking can also be a sign of brake system wear, if you experience either, you should schedule an appointment to have it checked out.
We are proud to carry only Liqui Moly oils and additives. Liqui Moly is Germany's #1 Motor Oil. And we believe it is the best oil for your German car.
Tires have to be visually inspected and/or measured to determine if they need to be replaced. When performing regular service we always check your tires, that's why it's important to have your car regularly serviced!
